Last Friday, June 19, Bandon RFC welcomed more than 200 golfers to Bandon Golf Club for its annual Golf Classic. The event was sponsored by Nyhan Motors, as well as more than 70 other sponsors from our local community. The event started off in wet conditions, but the weather improved dramatically throughout the morning, with the afternoon starters enjoying beautiful midsummer weather on the picturesque Bandon Golf course. The following is a list of winners of the men's and ladies' competitions, the longest drive, nearest the pin, and the raffle.
Men’s Competition 1st: Conor Carroll, Billy Quirke and Donnacha Straight, 57 points (see photo below) 2nd: Declan Kelly, Tadhg Kelly and Shane Casey, 54 points 3rd: Des O’Dowd, Ray Payne and Brendan O’Dowd, 52 points 4th: Christian Mulcahy, James Hunt and Sean O’Riordan, 52 points 5th: Josh O’Mahony, David Barry and Cathal Lynch, 52 points 6th: Noel Coomey, Brendan Butler and Mark Browne, 51 points 7th: Neil Canniffe, PJ Flynn and Mark Flynn, 50 points 8th: Dan O’Connell, Bernard Madden and Michael Quinlan, 50 points 9th: Paul Maxwell, Sean Sheehan and Paddy Carroll, 50 points
