Our Under 14s have kept their unbeaten run going and are top of their league with only 3 games remaining. They had two great wins in the last few weeks playing some great Rugby. first up was a 19-O win at home to Highfield in a game that they completely controlled from start to finish and scored three superb tries. The first try came when Bandon engineered a turnover inside their own 22 and some quick hands from the backs got to ball to winger Andrew Guinevan who beat four men and sped to length of the pitch to score a fabulous try. One supporter commented Andrew’s father Eamon wouldn’t have covered that much ground in a full season !!!. Bandons second try came when Daith Collis made a great break only to be held up short of the time and when the ball was quickly re-cycled Carlos O’Mahony showed great strength to break through the defence to Score.
Bandon’s third try came when jack appelbee turned over a great ball and Andrew O’Leary and Jack Buss showed great hands to put Andrew guinevan in again for his second. Daithi collis kicked two conersions to complete a 19-0 victory.
Their Second win was away to old rivals Mallow who had comprehensively beaten Bandon in last years under 13 league Semi- final. This was huge test of character which these young lads passed with flying colours. Played in Tough conditions this game won and lost up front with the tackle count and work rate of the bandon forwards a joy to behold. Time and time again Tim Twohig and Sean Sexton carried the Ball into the Opposition making great ground in the testing conditions and Ralph O’Mahony and Donagh Galvin put in some mighty tackles. With Mallow leading 6-0 with time almost up Tim Twohig gathered his charges and demanded one last mighty effort and his colleagues resopinded in style when after a series of pick and drives Daithi collis forced his way over for a superb try. Bandon weren’t finished yet and with a difficult conversion to come and in the face of a lot of “verbals” from the opposition with a run up trough mucky conditions and kicking into the strong breeze Daithi Collis did his talking with his boot and showed Character beyond his years to slot the match wining conversion with the last kick of the game. This win will give the lads great confidence as they face the final 3 league matches and shows how far they have come this year

Bandon Under 11’s entertained both Clonakilty and Cobh in a series of matches in Bandon over recent weekend. These guys are becoming a very entertaining team to watch and scored some wonderful tries. Mathew Woods, David Carthew, Daniel Lane, Rory O’Callaghan, Daniel Lynch, Fiachra O’Donoghue, Ronan Crowley, were prominant against Clonakilty and against Cobh it was the turn of Owen Guinane, Hugh O’Mahony, Colm Mccarthy and Aaron Motherway to shine.
